#540: Windows NT 3.5x setup fails on disk 1

If you wish to install Windows NT without using the floppy setup disks,

- or -

if you are receiving a message similar to "ntloadr failure multidisk(0) fdisk(0) drive(0)" while attempting to boot Windows NT Setup disk #1, and you already have a copy of Windows NT loaded on your hard drive, please follow this procedure to accomplish a floppyless installation:

  1. Make sure you have some type of usable partition on your hard drive (DOS, Win95, NT, etc).
  2. Boot from the 5200/mint setup disk.
  3. Switch to your CD-Rom drive (for example, d:[Enter]) and then type cd\i386 [Enter].
  4. Type winnt /b [Enter].
  5. Windows NT will proceed with the floppyless installation.
