Please follow these instructions to give your 5200 /mint battery (internal or external) the deepest charge possible:
1. Let the notebook run on battery at a DOS prompt until it shuts down.
2. Remove the battery and put it in your freezer for about 10 minutes, or let it cool down outside the notebook for about 30 minutes if a freezer is not available.
3. Put the battery back in the notebook and plug in the AC adapter to begin charging. Let it charge until the green light comes on.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3.
After this procedure, your battery should run about 30-45 minutes on a good load (CD-Rom access, etc), or even longer with less power-consuming notebook use.
