#528: No sound from speaker(s)

These suggestions assume you have already tried the common sense suggestions: enable the power-on-sound in the CMOS setup, turn up the volume during the "press any key to skip sound playback" message, and see if you have sound coming out. If you speakers operate normally under those conditions, then you have a software problem, or a much more complex sound chip problem than is covered in this tech note.

WARNING: If you do not have experience assembling notebook computers, please leave this task to a qualified technician, or send the notebook to Micro International to be serviced by a factory authorized technician.

Symptom: Sound comes from only one speaker, but if I attach external speakers I get sound from both of them.

Typical Solution: Check speaker connections, then replace the defective speaker.
